Update :: INGAL EPS to undergo a Mini-Makeover

ingaleps_header

We are all aware that brands can be likened to a person. And from time-to-time those brands, like people can need a spot of freshening up. We’ve been managing the INGAL EPS brand for over 12 years, the core elements of the identity are solid, timeless and maintain high brand recognition. However it was time for a bit of a mini-makeover to ensure the brand architecture remained current and relevant.

We’ve been tasked with delivering three major projects slated for completion by the end of June 2009.

New Work :: Hames Sharley Web Site

Hames Sharley originally partnered with one of Perth’s most respected web development firms for the development of their web presence. The first iteration of the web site was actually awarded a 2008 PADC Award. However, Hames Sharley felt that it still required a final bit of finessing as the original site was completed in haste to coincide with the national brand launch which was prior to the full arsenal of the brand architecture being completed, they also required the site to have some new features incorporated.

Here’s a little snippet from an article on the BBC news website – part of the Changing Cityscapes series and this time focussing on architecture and town planning in Manchester.

“In fact, if it isn’t iconic or iconic-in-the-making, then it probably won’t get passed by the Planning Department.”

In the managerial pecking order within most firms, finance occupies a more central role than the flimsy business of marketing. Financial people use complex terms like ‘derivatives’ and ‘collateralised debt obligations’, and deal with multibillion-dollar/pound sums on a daily basis. Marketers are a simpler mob, occupying their time with more basic duties, such as brand building and customer satisfaction.

We are forever explaining in detail to our clients some of the myths and misnomers regarding copyright and the protection of intellectual property. Old adages like “Well I paid you to design it, so it’s mine, right?” abound. There is so much confusion out there as to who exactly owns what that when we came across this publication, we thought we would post it on our blog to help spread the knowledge and hopefully clear up some of the confusion.

And yes, we’re well aware of the irony of “borrowing” the documents graphics for this posts header image.

freo_install02

Phase one of our work for Fremantle Prison is now complete with the installation of the interpretive signage to the Visitor Centre done and dusted. The Fremantle Prison is one of Western Australia’s premier heritage sites, centrally located in the heart of the port city of Fremantle. The Prison was built by convicts in the 1850s and was closed as a place of incarceration in 1991 after 136 years of continuous use. It was opened to the public in 1992 as a tourist site and in recognition of its heritage value.
